Gerry Ryan – The Nightshift (1987)

Hard to believe that over two years have passed since Gerry Ryan‘s untimely death. Most will remember him for his RTE TV and 2fm morning radio shows but readers of this site will also remember Gerry Ryan and his 8-10pm Nightshift show sandwiched between Dave Fanning and Mark Cagney’s Nighttrain. Here’s a little sample of what you might have heard, I editd the clip to preserve the anonymity of the pen pal letter writer..

  1. Would have been fun to hear the music he was playing also.

  2. Fanning Sessions Says:

Was trying to play it safe, will see what I can do..

  3. Matthew Kiely Says:

Listened to this show every night. Gerry always finished with “good night and have a good one”
One night he had a girl on from Meath who he referred to as ‘sex starved Sarah Savage’ I often wonder if she recalls that and where she ended up!
