Jim Lockhart
Jim Lockhart and Ian Wilson were the unsung heroes of The Fanning Sessions. Jim worked on the Fanning show for 12 years (1995 – 2007) and is now a Senior Producer in the Music Department at RTE Radio 1. Born in Dublin, Jim studied Economics and Politics at UCD but is probably most well known as a member of Horslips with whom he plays keyboards, pipes, whistles and flute. Seen recently on TG4’s Ar Staitse which transmitted a 1976 National Stadium show , Horslips reunited in 2009 for a series of shows following a long hiatus and have since seen a new lease of life with numerous festival appearances and reissues. On St Patrick’s Day, 17 March 2011, the band played a BBC concert with the Ulster Orchestra at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall. In 2012 they appear at the Late Late Show’s 50th celebrations and will appear at the Rory Gallagher Tribute Festival, which takes place in Ballyshannon, Co Donegal over the June Bank Holiday Weekend.
