  1. If “waking on a pretty day” is “outside the fab 50”, then what happened to number 32?

  2. Oops! 32 future islands – seasons

  3. Ha ha..’Miracle of Joey Ramone’ at number 4, how much did U2 have to pony up to ensure any song from their atrocious record made the top 500, much less top 5? Absolutely absurd, makes a joke of the entire poll

  4. Have been looking online and am amazed at how difficult it is to find Fanning’s Fab50 older than 2008. Found 1990 and 2001, parts of 1986, 1989, 1995, 2000 and 2002, but very little else. RTE gives nothing, nor Hotpress. Can anyone add?

  5. @snap – RTE probably dont have them, I post them as I get them. If anyone has any more listings please comment or email..

  6. I did my own top 50s from 1986 to 2007. Pre-recorded them onto three tapes (CDRs since 2001). Invite a load of mates over in mid-December and played them from 50 down to 1.
