The Baby Snakes
Okay last post before I take a little break. Two ex members of Those Handsome Devils, Frank Rynne (vocals & guitar) and John Bonnie (drums) formed The Baby Snakes in 1985 with (a) Niall O’Sullivan or (b) Colin Byrne (guitar) and Daragh McCarthy (bass) in 1985. The very same year they recorded a Fanning session and one track from that session made it to No.13 in Fanning Fab 50. It also appeared on a compilation Weird Weird World of Guru Weirdbrain on Hotwire Records the same year?? You can watch the boys in action on irish Saturday morning TV here, did anyone else watch Anything Goes just to see the bands, that Mary Fitzgerald used do my head in..

i was lucky enough to see BABYSNAKES live a couple of times in drogheda boxing club they always always sounded well and delivered the goods on both occasions. i remember they used to do a fantastic version of suspicious minds for their closing song. i bought looking for strange in comet records when it was released i was very disappointed and felt very ripped off by brian in comet as he charged £2.50 and it only came in a plain white sleeve, does anybody know if it also came in a picture sleeve??? i was also at those handsome devils gig in drogheda boxing club when babysnakes singer was their guitar player another fantastic gig. would love to see the babysnakes doing some more gigs.
