The Mere Mortals

From Portlaoise, The Mere Mortals were a six piece band featuring Paul Marron (vocals), Paul Brophy (guitar, vocals), Ollie Plunkett (guitar), Des Rigney (bass), Pat Critchley (percussion, accordion) and Dick Duff (drums). This song was later released as their debut single in 1991. It entered the Irish charts in June peaking at #11. A second single was recorded but financial constraints prevented it from being properly promoted.

  1. I just love this song. I’ve been searching for a copy of it for years. Any chance it will be made available as a download? One of the many great Irish bands that didn’t make it. Anyway, the song still sounds as great nearly 20 years later. Thanks for putting up here.
