Tuesday Blue (Demo)
I’ll never forget the first time I saw Tuesday Blue live in The Savoy in Limerick. There was a lot of press about the band already and great things were promised. The room was like a exotic boudoir with incense burning, the music began and gradually the smoke around the stage dissipated to reveal Mick Ryan performing transcendental meditation. A seminal moment as they say. This demo track made it to number 31 in the 1986 Fanning Fab Fifty. The full lineup was Mick Ryan (vocals), Dave Keary (guitar), Ralf Lindheim (bass) and Liam Darcy (drums).

Tuesday Blue. Good stuff indeed.
We played a support with them in the Project Arts Center in 1987. Decent lads.

Absolutely loved this band. The Savoy on a Thursday night was unmissable. Limerick had a great music scene in the 80s. I miss that.

Tuesday Blue! What a great band! Loved “Tunnel Vision” which i still have on 12″, they were signed to Mother records. No mention of Liam Darcy on this 12″, a guy called Ray Fean is named alongside Dave Keary, Mike Ryan and Ralf Lindheim!

Sheelagh is correct – Ray Fean was the drummer in Tuesday Blue (maybe Liam Darcy was in an early version of the band?). Ray is brother of Johnny Fean and has played drums in the Horslips gigs of recent years.

In the band line-up you should add Tom Jones (keyboards).

Does anyone know how I could get my hands on a copy of Tuesday Blue’s limited release second album “Waiting for the magic” ?

I have a copy of it, bought it at their live reunion gig in Limerick a few years ago, could make a copy for you if u like?
I am pretty sure there is a copy also in the music section of Limerick City Library.
Coincidentally after circa 25 years of searching I just bought last week in a 2nd hand record shop in Arklow a pristine copy of the EMI Manhattan vinyl LP release of the 1st album which I had bought on cassette in the USA on release but lent it to a young nephew and never got it back.
For your info Dave Keary is presently in Van Morrissons band but still plays in Limerick and I am just heading out the door to see him with the Lost Steps on their annual seasonal gig

Reason ‘Im So Scared’ got to No 31 was because myself and a few mates who were huge fans of the band sent a load of postcards each to Dave Fannings Xmas Xmas Fab 50, with each postcard having multiple voters on it voting for “Im so scared” .. the following year I remember hearing Dave Fanning banning mutiple votes per entry 😉 … Fact.
